Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. V has always been good with her hands, which naturally drew her toward a career that requires manual dexterity. Her background in music, including playing the violin and cello, also gives her a passion for artistry and attention to detail. With its focus on aesthetics and creating beautiful smiles, she saw that dentistry would allow her to merge her love for the arts and positively impact patients' lives at the same time.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Originally from Fort Worth, TX, Dr. V received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and later completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the NYU College of Dentistry. Following her dental education, she went on to complete a general practice residency at Woodhull Hospital, where she gained additional experience and expertise in a variety of procedures, including endodontics and surgical treatments.
Today, she regularly takes continuing education courses through institutions like Spear Education, and she is also a member of the:
- American Dental Association

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Valeria was born in Mexico but spent most of her life growing up in Texas alongside her parents and younger brother. She met her husband in dental school, and after living in New York City, they decided to make Georgia their new home alongside their cat, Gabi. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she lived in Lyon, France for two months to study French. Dr. V has always admired French culture, and to immerse herself, she stayed with a French family while she attended the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. Back at home, she finds joy in practicing yoga, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and expressing her creativity through playing the violin, cello, and painting.
